Reliance is one of the top 100 companies in the world. Ranked 96th on the Fortune list Eight years later again.

New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries has joined the top 100 companies in the Fortune Global 500 list.  The company set a record of 96th in the 2020 rankings released on Tuesday.  This is the best ranking of any Indian company in the Fortune Global 500 list.

 * In 2012, Reliance reached the top-100 for the first time.  The company was then ranked 99th.  However by 2016 it was limited to 215 position.  The rank has been improving ever since.  It is currently ranked 96th with a revenue of $ 8620 crore (approximately Rs 6.46 lakh crore).

 * Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), a public sector undertaking, dropped 34 places to 151st;  ONGC lost 30 ranks to 190th.

 * SBI, on the other hand, improved 21 places to be ranked 221st.

 Feasibility study on Reliance O2C stake: Aramco

 Speaking of which .. I can only say that we are currently looking at the possibilities.  That’s a big deal.  So we take the time to review.  "We will decide on the deal based on the feasibility report," Amin Nazar, CEO of Saudi Aramco, told reporters during the June quarterly results.  Mukesh told the RIL annual meeting last month that the deal was being delayed due to Corona.  Amin also did not specify any deadline on the deal.

 Who benefits: If this deal goes through .. it will be as if Aramco has increased its ability to convert its crude oil into chemicals.  RIL receives technical expertise from Saudi Basic Industries Corporation.  This makes oil drilling much easier.
